Businessman, advisor, mentor, and entrepreneur with a strategic vision. Under his leadership, RJ Capital Partners provided capital and mentorship to successful companies such as Papaya Ventures, a startup accelerator in the Startup Brasil initiative led by the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovations, and Communications (MCTIC), and Building Energy Inc., based in Portland, US, which joined the Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and the US Department of Energy to develop the Building Performance Database, the largest public source of building energy performance data in the United States. Throughout his career, Marcelo has also contributed strategic insights and investment experience to Marambaia, a proprietary investment group in Brazil led by a founder of Banco BTG Pactual; to the sports marketing firm Pelé Sports and Marketing Inc., and Virtual Promotions Ltd., holder of certain rights in connection to the Fédération Internationale du Sport Universitaire; and International Sports Ltd., a New York-based sports marketing company, holder of certain TV rights in connection to international basketball games.
